All About Mr. Slatinsky
My name is Joshua Slatinsky. I am a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Technology in Visual Communications Technology. As a VCT major, I am focused in web design/development and graphic design. I enjoy exercising my imagination and creativity through design and interaction. Throughout my studies I've discovered a great appreciation for collaboration. I love learning from and expressing new ideas with fellow individuals that carry the same passion for creativity.
I grew up just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. My favorite food is chicken paprikash, I love Star Wars, and always enjoy a competitive game of MarioKart. While growing up, I studied Martial Arts for eight years and was an All-Ohio athlete in the "good ol' days."

UFP-Toledo
Banner
This banner was selected to be part of The Urban Forest Project Toledo. This banner unites two entities, trees and the state of Ohio, together as one. This new relationship will encourage the viewer to understand the significance each has on the other. Essentially, trees belong to the Earth which we live upon. Therefore, trees are our home. If we neglect trees, we neglect ourselves.

Cal Earth
Logotype and Stationery System
The Cal Earth logo was designed for The California Institute of Earth Art and Architecture. Cal Earth is a non-profit organization dedicated to research and education of the public in environmentally oriented arts and architecture. The institute's philosophy is based on the equilibrium of the natural elements of earth, water, air, and fire, and their unity at the service of the arts and humanity.

Poetic Translation
An excerpt from Edgar Lee's poem, Silence, in which I designed a series of typographic layouts. Each design evolves into the next by focusing on the important aspects of the writing. All designs were packaged to form a french folded booklet.
The Sketchbook
Questioning Project
A research project on the effectiveness of sketchbooks and one's creativity. Some say sketchbook are useless, most never leave home without it. The cover was screen printed and the illustrations are hand drawn.

Falcon Film Festival
Identity System
The Falcon Film Festival is an annual campus event hosted by BGSU. BGSU students participate by creating and submitted a short film about college life. The films are then reviewed and the winners are announced at the festival. This project was a collaboration with Zack Seuberling and Logan Burnside.

A magazine form for Print's Regional Design Annual. This advertisement was designed around the concept of print making.
The Death of Me
Typography Poster
This is a typographic poster giving directions from my apartment to the art building on campus. The concept of this poster was derived from many morning bike rides to class. I wanted to capture the feeling of the busy streets, fast pace, and a jumbled thought process with both the design and writing.
